THE EQUI-FUN WINTER DRESSAGE SERIES RULES

THE LEAGUES - At each show throughout the series points will be awarded to the top ten horse and rider combinations in each class. Points won at any of the qualifying competitions will be accumulated and a league table will be published and updated after every competition. Alongside this a Team Competition League will be run, where at each show in the series the top ten teams competing will also be awarded points, put into a league table and be published after each show.

THE POINTS – The following points will be awarded for each individual’s class placing:
1st = 10 points
2nd = 9 points
3rd = 8 points
4th = 7points
5th = 6 points
6th = 5 points
7th = 4 points
8th = 3 points
9th = 2 points
10th = 1 point
The same point system will be used to allocate points according to team placings.

THE PRIZES - Prizes will be awarded to the following competitors:
Senior Overall Champion - Awarded across all levels to the Horse and Rider combination aged 16years and over that has accumulated the highest number of points throughout the series.
Junior Overall Champion - Awarded across all levels to the Horse and Rider combination aged 16years and under that has accumulated the highest number of points throughout the series.
Oldest Combination Prize – Awarded to horse and rider combination with the highest combined age, to have competed throughout the series.
Most Improved Junior & Senior Combination – Awarded to the horse and rider who have improved their percentage mark over the winter series.
Team Overall Champions – Awarded to the team that has accumulated the highest number of points throughout the series.

THE TEAM COMPETITION - Competitors are invited to form a team of 4 (minimum of 3) riders who are competing throughout the series. Each member rides their chosen test as normal, their score is then put forward to the team total. Only the three highest scores count, so we drop the lowest score. The highest combined team score wins. Team members must ride in at least two different levels (Intro, Prelim, Novice), i.e. all team tests cannot be from the same class or level.

Team members can enter as many tests individually as they like but must state on their entry form which test is their team entry. The team competition will not include class 5 (PYO Novice & Elementary) at any show. A team may only be represented once per competition day. Each team must nominate a Team Captain who will be the point of contact for the team. Every team member does not need to enter every month, although by doing so you’ll maximise your chances of improving your team score.

Each team can have one reserve rider, but they must be registered alongside your team from the start. Reserves can only be used to replace injured/sick riders/horses. Teams cannot change throughout the series, other than bringing in the reserve to replace someone. Horses/ponies can be ridden twice on the same team if ridden by two different riders. A rider may ONLY ride more than once for a team (i.e. a rider with two horses) if the horses are competing at two different levels.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW – This will be the last show in the Winter Series held on Sunday 13th March at Plumpton College, everyone who competes in this show will receive a special ‘Equi-Fun Dressage Series’ rosette. It will be an open show, so there will be no need to qualify to compete at the show. Only those who have qualified will be entitled to win the above prizes. The top ten placed horse and rider combinations of each class and the top ten teams from each show automatically qualify for the Championship. Prizes will be awarded at the Championship Show or the club secretary will arrange to get them to the champions after the show.

The league tables will be published on the The Equi-Fun Club Facebook page, the website and via email to the  current mailing list.
